The text above relating to Summer Reading Challenge activities was taken directly from a council produced leaflet.

If you or anyone else does gain more information please post it up.

Please also sign comments, even if just using your first name or initials, if you prefer not to use one of the other comment login options.

Save Croydon Librarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09591102853589123927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6232134943658519167.post-85666822467344718692013-07-30T11:43:57.947+01:002013-07-30T11:43:57.947+01:00My daughter signed up for the summer reading chall...My daughter signed up for the summer reading challenge today and it seems good particularly as you can choose any books you like to read. So we are choosing some of the books from the suggested summer reading list from school as well as our own choices! Think it was a volunteer signing up people and a handful of families were around so a good atmosphere. I noticed some lovely new books on display with the "creepy/scary" theme and took one home for my little boy. I didn't get a chance today but I want to find out if there is a "scheme" for little ones, ie. under 4s, as the previous Book Trail I thought was a good way of reading books, building confidence by answering questions in a safe and familiar environment and getting some "rewards" on the way. It meant that the younger ones could also do the same as the older children/siblings albeit with their own age appropriate books, so they felt they were all taking part in the same scheme.
