  1. TO HAVE A COMMERCIAL COMPANY WITH LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE OF RUNNING PUBLIC LIBRARIES, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ALREADY HAVE SUCH A CLOSE FINANCIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CROYDON COUNCIL IS MOST CONCERNING FOR THE VOTERS.

THE WORD " COMMERCIAL " SAYS IT ALL - THEY NEED TO MAKE A PROFIT TO SATISFY THEIR SHAREHOLDERS.THEREFORE, FURTHER CUTS ARE INEVITABLE.

THIS WILL RESULT IN EVEN POORER LEVELS OF SERVICE AT OUR LIBRARIES.

  2. All Croydon's libraries staying permanently open for the benefit of ALL is vital, not only in bringing a wealth of information, cultural riches and educational resources to citizens able to access them in the centre of Croydon but those because of age, time live in the outer suburbs dispersed in a borough of such unusually large geographical
    area.

We certainly do not want a private company associated with tax avoidance to be accepted as a proper provider for our library service.

  3. I think that Croydon's libraries should all be kept open, and not run by a commercial company. My children love their local library and the relationship they have forged with the brilliant staff there is great. We don't want any more staff cuts, changes or disorganisation. We want a local library, for local people.
